The Kolop mud, with its inorganic composition and classified as medicinal mud, can be used for mud wraps, mud baths and cosmetic purposes.
It is primarily used for chronic diseases of the joints and spine, gout and sports injuries.

Kolop, which falls under the jurisdiction of Tiszasüly, is registered on the map as Kolop spa, which indicates that it once operated as a health resort. Since 1945 and 1955, only Kolop medicinal mud has been used in the capital's spas, but e.g. The St. Gellért Bath has been used for medicinal purposes since 1920.

The bathing area and mud extraction site, which was established in 1890, came under the management of the Budapest Spas and Medicinal Springs in 1951. The company had the mud examined by various institutions, created a protective area on the site, and declared the area protected, and in 1968 the mud extracted here was classified by the Minister of Health as a medicinal mud under the name "Kolopi Medicinal Mud".

The use of Kolopi mud is equivalent to bathing in naturally occurring hot springs.
With the development of balneological treatments, one of the most important additional services of spa treatments is the various mud wraps.
The healing effect of mud is provided by the mineral content in the mud, the heat storage capacity, and the slow heat transfer, which has a deep warming, anti-stiffening and blood-enhancing effect.
